Now that Porter is more mobile than ever, I've bought him two different pairs of shoes; one black pair and one brown pair. Needless to say, it took a bit for him to get used to them but they do keep his socks dry when we're out and about.
Sunday morning (~2:30 AM) we had an earthquake that shook the house pretty good. The earthquake website - http://www.canterburyquakelive.co.nz/ - said it was only a 3.5 but it seemed to be the biggest one I've been through since I've been here. Now, I'm starting to understand why the locals don't believe in that magnitude rating; they say that there are different types of quakes and it is the depth of them that really affects how hard the ground shakes. Anyway, this one was a bit scary and I can only imagine how the big ones felt a couple years ago!
I'm really trying to quit coffee..."trying". Even the "crappy" coffee here is tasty. I've tried substituting with tea but that isn't working, either. It is just SO tasty here. :) I think 50% of my daily caloric intake is from coffee.
As always...pictures below.
